Hello New York, it’s good to be back!

Well I can’t believe New York Fashion Week has already come and gone. It always feels like such a whirlwind each season, but this year I only went for four days then headed back to the west coast. Can you believe this was my twelfth season to attend NYFW? Wow, time has flown by. To think I was 23 the first time I attended seems like forever ago and also just yesterday at the same time. I had mixed feelings this year as much has changed at fashion week over the years, but I still had an absolute blast! I look forward to continuing this part of my career in the future but will always have those special memories from the past.

Let’s jump into day 1. I got into the city late on Wednesday night and was ready to hit the ground running on Thursday. Waking up in New York is one of my favorite things. I love how this city inspires me more than I can describe. I feel so alive here and crave that feeling a few times a year (just in time for fashion week each season). The show highlights of the day included a beautiful California girl collection by Tadashi Shoji including embroidered chiffon and bohemian silhouettes, Noon by Noor had a few solid red numbers that caught my eye (red continues to be a bold color for Spring) and a Shopbop event where I saw several of my blogger friends. That evening I met up for a glass of wine at Jack’s Wife Freda with my good friend Amanda (who was in town from LA), then had dinner with longtime close friend (who I’ve traveled to fashion week with several times) Courtney and Nick at L’Artusi. OMG this restaurant is SO good, you must go next time you’re in NYC. Seriously, the best spaghetti I’ve ever had!

Stay tuned for more outfits and adventures from this season at NYFW! Scroll down to see what I wore to the first day of shows.
