hello new york city, how I have missed you!

arriving in the city is always something i look forward to. immediately life feels so good. seeing the skyscrapers and knowing i will be here for awhile puts a smile on my face. the busy city is inspiring, what an amazing energy. oh, and the adventures that take place are always beyond description. i can’t believe new york fashion week is really here again! my cab pulled up to my home for the next week, the empire hotel, where i met up with lo. i was ecstatic to see her!

after catching up and discussing our plans for fashion week, we took a walk over to cafe lalo for dinner. look familiar? lalo was in the movie you’ve got mail! how fun to be sitting in the same cafe meg ryan once awaited her blind date with tom hanks, so much character and what a delicious menu. shortly after, our friend and amazing videographer aaron craig met up with us. having coffee and catching up turned into going to have a drink at the mandarin oriental hotel. the view here from the bar and restaurant is breathtaking, highly recommend next time you may find yourself in the city.

rise and shine: the first day of fashion week greeted us. off to what lo has termed “the secret street” to snap pics of the models and even getting surprise pics of celebs as they are going in and out of lincoln. spotted: dwyane wade & vanessa hudgens. next up? kimberly ovitz; i was not impressed. although simplicity can be wonderful, the extremely sheer fabrics weren’t one of my favorites. i was however looking forward to fashion’s night out later that evening.

we ventured to soho were we sipped champagne at burberry followed by the party at john varvatos. upon leaving, we noticed a huge crowd of people covering the street for blocks. what was going on? oh everyone was waiting for khloe kardashian to come out of her store “dash”. the crowd went wild, screaming when she walked out escorted by about ten body guards. we got a glimpse of the reality tv star, yes she really is a tall girl. the night ended with a quick trip to betsey johnson and billy reid. eating a wonderful dinner at the smile with aaron and lo was perfection. did i mention how much i love this city?

and the adventures shall continue. lolly and lo are just getting started!
