…I wish I was a baller. Okay, okay If you don’t know what song I’m referring to then you probably won’t understand my shirt in this post. If you do know the catchy lyrics to this rap, then you think the tank is gold (insert me laughing hysterically when my dear friend, Alex, sent this tee as a birthday gift). I immediately knew when styling this look that wax denim would have to make an appearance. Being that it was chilly when we shot the photos, another shining star from my wardrobe (my leopard coat) seemed more than appropriate. As far as kicks go? Chuck Taylors would do the trick. Topped it off with some BaubleBar goodies (which I adore).

Fact: camouflage is for hunting. Fact: camo can also make a fashion statement. Being a girl who grew up going to the ranch and being exposed to many versions of forest patterns from my dad, grandfather, uncles and cousins (the list goes on and on), wearing this print in a social setting seems a little funny. However, I am not opposed to it one bit. I dig it. Camo with an oversized sweater, statement jewels and some sick Vince shoes? Done and done.

3, 2, 1… Happy New Year. Oh the three words we all look forward to as the year comes to an end. A new year? Yes, time for us to reinvent ourselves and set some ridiculous goal to change in the upcoming twelve months. Alright, reality check people. Why do we fixate on this holiday as the time to make a change (#overrated)? Does another year really have the power to make us transform into this unrealistic brand new you? Absolutely not. All of the clichés about resolutions usually last for the month of January, then you’re back into the old groove. Not that there is a problem with that by any means but let’s stop for a moment, take it all in and live life one day at a time. Truthfully, I am just as guilty as the next guy.
Before I step off my soap box, I have a few thoughts for you to marinate on. In my mind life is an Endless Summer. Why summer? Well because that happens to be my favorite time of year. I am constantly in search of the “perfect wave” and not looking back. There are no mistakes but many lessons if you choose to pay attention. Relax and enjoy the journey of life. As some wise band members once said “YOLO” (you know who you are).
Cheers to 2014!
