Sometimes I like to take a trend and wear it in the less obvious way. Take this white crop top. Now, the top isn’t as short as most crops, but it definitely would be paired with a bottom piece that has a higher waist. Today, I decided why not put a long black tank underneath it to create layers? It almost makes it look like the tank is part of the white top. I love this look with mid rise worn out denim and my new favorite kicks. Yes, Vans has do it again with a killer high top. The look is effortless but feels put together at the same time. Try pairing an outfit together in your closet that feels less obvious this week!
PS- the key necklace I’m wearing is from the Giving Keys. My key has “dream” engraved on it, which inspires me every day. When I find someone that I feel could really use this message, I will pass my key along to them. What a cool concept. Check out their website here and read more about their story. So amazing.
Something I am starting to realize about living in California is how amazed I am every day by the beauty. I might be sitting in traffic, but I can look to my right and see the ocean. The other day, I pulled over during rush hour and sat on a rock and listened to the waves crash up against the shore in Malibu. Driving to and from work I go down this funky little street, (well, quite famous actually) Abbot Kinney, and feel constantly inspired. Take this wall for example. I was walking to lunch and spotted it on the side of a building. Done. Snapped the photos instantly.
Now onto the outfit. If you are questioning a pair of gladiators, don’t. BUY THEM NOW. I mean it, this trend is holding strong. The best part? These ASOS gladiators are only $81 (AND they come in black and red too). I mean, how can you say no? I love pairing them with cut off shorts or even a casual dress. You can wear the sandals with anything this Summer and will transition into the beginning of Fall as well.
Take a look around this week. Stop and take time for yourself. Notice a sunset and breath in the beautiful Summer air. xx
Who would think that a sweatshirt could be styled for more than hanging out at home? This is something I dig about casual wear. I have taken this simple sweatshirt and added my favorite slip on shoes and a statement necklace in order to make this a complete look. The nights on the west side get chilly, so layering is important. I love that I can tie this sweatshirt around my waist while it’s warm and then throw it on if I get cold (without losing my relaxed yet cool girl vibe). The look is easy and chic. What’s your favorite casual look?
