Inspiration in the City

While on the way to the Son Jung Wan runway show, I thought to myself how happy I was to be back in the city. As you may have read in my last post, I really love this time of year. But it’s more than that. The city inspires me in a way I almost can’t describe. From the architecture to seeing a Broadway show (yes, Cats is back), New York’s bright lights give me an energy that I adore.

When it comes to the fashion aspect, this week makes me feel more a part of the industry than ever before. All of the sudden I am sitting among my colleagues and muses in the fashion world. Seeing my favorite editors on the front row as they nod their heads and take in the new trends has always been an amazing experience.

Now let’s get back to the outfit. I paired an embroidered button down with my favorite Re/Done jeans, a black Manolo heel and a swipe of my go-to red lipstick. I love the detail to this top. Add in floral embroidery and all of the sudden the shirt went from basic to fashion forward. Sometimes it’s the little things you have to notice in order to give your look a boost. This time of year is wonderful for fun denim and accessorizing. I paired a Mark Cross “box” bag to give a bit of edge to this lighter look. Stay tuned for more of my adventures in NYC.
