There are many things I like about the quirky city I live in like graffiti walls. Pretty much every corner you turn in Austin has some type of artwork. Naturally, I figure they should be incorporated into my blog from time to time. Enough on the city, now to the clothing. As you know I am a big fan of wearing shoes that stand out. These glitter spiked pumps really turn the outfit up a notch. Not to mention if I got mugged, they are great self defense. Wearing a flowing top, skinny jeans and disco ball shoes are perfect for any day of the week. Happy Friday people, the weekend is here!

Well I believe it’s finally time that the famous “Pete” made an appearance on the blog today. To say I am obsessing over the Man Repeller x PJK collaboration is an understatement. The best part? You can find it at Neiman Marcus! I felt the funny little flamingo paired perfectly with this bright yellow Alice + Olivia blazer. And the icing to the cake? Neon pink sandals and bag.

Ladies get our your credit cards, sandal season has officially arrived. New looks from all of our favorite designers are ready for purchase. I personally can hardly contain myself. There is this wonderful satisfaction we all get out of buying a new pair of shoes, one of those feelings that can turn your whole day around.

I guess you could call it love at first sight. Of course I am describing my feelings towards this A+O white top with leather detail. Are you ready for transitioning leather accents into the Spring season? Um please, the obvious answer is yes. Sometimes a pair of jeans and a pair of fun sandals are all that’s needed to complete your outfit. You know that “I didn’t try ~~but I really did~~” look. Less truly can be more.

Because Fedoras are So…

…Fall 2013 #NYFW. Yes, fedoras were spotted all over the runway and at several presentations. I was not only inspired by the hat but it also kept my hair dry in the pouring snow ~~rain~~. After the trip was over, I concluded that a fedora totally works for me. Long hair? Check. Felt fedora? Double Check. And a pop of pink lipstick always does the trick.

NYFW Day 3 & 4: Bitter Sweet Goodbye

Waking up to even more snow, New York looks beautiful. My partner in crime this trip, Courtney Kerr and I were ready to bare the cold and start our day with fashion shows. Mara Hoffman and Hervé Léger by Max Azria were some on the list. I’m absolutely obsessed with Hoffman’s collection (per usual). Tribal, neons, pretty much everything that describes my style. After leaving Lincoln Center that evening, we decided to do a little shopping and grab dinner. A perfect end to the day.

We woke up early Sunday morning for brunch at Peels (delish). While there a friend of ours let us know we had been spotted in Harper’s BAZAAR New York Fashion Week Street Style! We were not only on the website but also pictured on their instagram feed! SO EXCITED. One of the highlights of the trip?! OMG yes!!!!

Trina Turk and Custo Barcelona were the shows we could make that day before leaving to catch our flight. Trina Turk included looks with fedoras. Ladies, if you don’t have a felt fedora yet get one. Must have for Fall 2013. They were heavily spotted in several shows.

Leaving the city is always hard for me. Kind of a bitter sweet feeling. I was ready to be in my own bed, but not ready to leave the fashion madness and the inspiration. The city really gives me so much life! Back to reality, until September New York.

What better time to snap some photos then while frolicking around outside in the snow after Rebecca Minkoff’s Fall 2013 show? Oh how I love fashion week. At his point Nemo is in full force pouring glittery snowflakes out of the sky. These Texans are chilly.

NYFW Day 2: Snow Won’t Stop Fashion

Day two had begun and the winter “storm of 2013″ started to make an appearance. Snow and sleet were falling which made the dash across the street to Lincoln Center a little tougher than usual. But who says a snow storm will stop fashion week? Carmen Marc Valvo started off the day with gorgeous trench coats, fur, cocktail dresses and pink tipped hair sported by the models (they obviously noticed my pink hair from my blog).

Sitting front row at Noon by Noor was particularly fantastic since Nigel Barker was seated directly across the runway from me. Not a bad view for any show.

Back to the room for some fashion coverage for LOLO Magazine before heading off to Rebecca Minkoff for a show that was packed. Spotted: Man Repeller and Ashlee Simpson. Being a huge Minkoff fan, I loved watching her colors and handbags rock the runway. I could honestly see all of the pieces hanging in my closet in the near future. After the show, we met up with Lauren and Kat (our amazing photographer friend) for some fun, snowy pictures. Stay tuned for blog post. Nicole Miller’s show would cap off fashion shows for the day. The collection is a spin on menswear as if you had picked through your boyfriend’s closet and softened it up a bit. Definitely liked the vibe. Here’s a little something to make you laugh. Picture us darting back to the Empire at the end of the day in 5-6 inch heels stepping through snow piles and ice while trying to stay chic. I am sure it’s hilarious to watch. #NYFW

Courtney and I made plans to meet up with some fabulous fashion bloggers for dinner (Dallas Shaw, Julia Engel, Krystal Bick and Alicia Lund). When we left, we just had to take advantage of the snow and snap some silly pics while the Lincoln Center looked like a winter wonderland. We finished with a nightcap in the Empire bar and off to bed to start another full day. Until tomorrow…

Fashion Week Begins: Day 1

What a whirlwind. Courtney (What Courtney Wore) and I started out the day with the Tadashi Shoji show at Lincoln Center. Stunning. Long gowns, chiffon, lace and jewel tones all hit the runway. Spotted: Neiman’s creative director, Ken Downing. Then back to the Empire to meet up with Lo (LOLO) since her flight had gotten in. So excited to be reunited in the big city which we both are crazy about. Catching up for an hour went by so quickly, then we were parting ways to hit up shows. Sergio Davila was up next with printed leggings, lambskin leather, cashmere and knits. The show had a dark and edgy undertone with a hint of bad boy/girl vibe.

Now the next collection was one that I had been anticipating. Menswear? Sign me up. Timo Weiland had worked magic in his men’s presentation. Straight leg navy pants, bomber jackets, crewneck sweaters, forrest green and classic button downs.

The day may have flown by, but I couldn’t wait to have dinner with some of my friends in the city after our first day at Fashion Week this season. The Smith was the perfect location for cocktails and delicious bites. Big fan. The idea of crawling in bed after a long day sounded so perfect. Ready to start all the madness again in the morning.
